LAS VEGAS – July 26, 2023 – The Clark County School District (CCSD) and Vera Whole Health, now part of apree health, have officially launched their partnership to provide no-cost advanced primary care to approximately 10,000 Support Professionals and Police Professionals who are enrolled in CCSD health insurance.

CCSD has selected the Vera advanced primary care model, in addition to its existing insurance benefits, to provide their employees with a differentiated healthcare experience that delivers improved health outcomes at a reduced total cost of care.

“Providing greater access to healthcare and additional options for our police, support professionals, and their families is important,” said CCSD Superintendent Dr. Jesus F. Jara. “Managing a career and family is a delicate balance. Providing additional healthcare options for our employees allows them to focus on their health and their families. We look forward to this partnership benefiting our staff.”

The Vera model is a value-based care model that improves upon traditional primary care by delivering whole person care through a connected care team of primary care providers, behavioral health clinicians, and health coaches. It moves away from the traditional fee-for-service (FFS) model by prioritizing value over volume and creating strong patient-provider relationships, which ultimately lead to exceptional engagement, better health outcomes, and more affordable healthcare. It offers increased access to high-quality primary care and expanded services for employees and their families, longer appointment times (both virtually and in-person), a robust navigation platform, and coordinated high-quality referral management when needed.

“We know that Nevada is continuously ranked one of the lowest in the Nation when it comes to access to quality primary care,” said Steven Albright, market president, apree health. “Healthcare is too important to stay the same. Our advanced primary care model redefines the healthcare experience by putting the person at the center of everything we do. We are proud to partner with an innovative partner like CCSD to deliver an end-to-end solution that will meet the unique needs of their people–resulting in a better experience, stronger engagement, improved outcomes, and lower costs.”

Two Vera Care Centers, located in Summerlin and Green Valley, serve CCSD’s covered employees and their eligible dependents over 3 years old. The care centers also serve members from other contracted employers and payer organizations and are located at 100 N Green Valley Parkway, Suite 235, Henderson, NV 89074; and 331 N. Buffalo Drive, Suite 120, Las Vegas, NV 89145.
