Job Description Summary

The Employee Relations Specialist plays a critical role in cultivating a positive, productive, and compliant work environment across apree health and its partners. This role is responsible for managing and resolving employee relations matters with a balanced approach that supports both business objectives and team member engagement. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of dedicated employee relations experience, strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for driving a fair and inclusive workplace culture.

Position Qualifications/ Core Functions: 

  • Provide expert-level guidance and support to managers and team members on performance management, corrective actions, and workplace conflict resolution

  • Assist with conduct prompt, thorough, and objective investigations into team member concerns, including gathering evidence, interviewing relevant parties and preparing comprehensive reports

  • Manage formal grievance and complaint processes, ensuring accurate documentation, timely communication, and fair resolution in accordance with company policy and employment law.

  • Maintain clear, detailed, and confidential documentation throughout all phases of employee relations cases

  • Interpret and apply HR policies, procedures, and labor laws to ensure consistent and equitable decision-making

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders including Legal, Compliance, and HR Business Partners to align ER practices with company values and regulatory requirements

  • Assist in training for leaders on workplace conduct, conflict resolution, and performance management

  • Maintain current knowledge of employment law and HR best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and risk mitigation

  • Participate in special projects, organizational initiatives, and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience specifically in employee relations

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Demonstrated experience in employee relations matters to include performance management

  • Working knowledge of employment law, HR compliance practices, and workplace policies.

  • High emotional intelligence, discretion, and sound judgment

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to influence and advise leaders at all levels with confidence and clarity

  • Proficiency with HRIS systems (WorkDay preferred) and employee relations case tracking tools
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification

  • Experience in healthcare, technology, or high-growth environments

  • Familiarity with data-driven approaches to employee relations and culture improvement

  • Proficiency with G-Suite and MS Office

Compensation:  $50,600K – $63,250K annual salary & bonus eligible (national average, premium markets may vary)
