Director of Compensation
SUMMARY
The Director of Compensation oversees the planning, development, implementation, and management of apree health’s global compensation program, including base pay and global short-term and long-term incentive programs. This role is responsible for global broad-based compensation strategy and execution. This individual will work closely with HR, Finance, Legal, and other leadership teams to ensure our ability to attract, motivate, and retain talent.
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this individual will provide expertise, innovative thinking, and strategic leadership in the overall management of compensation programs. The Director of Compensation will stay current on market trends, best and next practices, pending legislation, and regulatory requirements impacting global compensation practices and policies. This role will ensure our compensation program supports a high-performance, people-first culture and aligns with our overall people strategies.
This is a collaborative, hands-on role that will provide consultative support to leaders at all levels, and work closely with peers including Total Rewards, HR Business Partners, Recruiting, HR Operations, Talent Management, Workday team, and Finance.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead enterprise wide compensation projects.
Own apree’s job architecture, including ongoing maintenance and change management.
Serve as key advisor on all compensation matters, including promotion and adjustment recommendations, benchmarking, compensation strategy, and budgeting.
Assure that compensation programs directly support strategic goals and are competitive, cost effective, and compliant with all applicable laws and regulations.
Act as an internal consultant in the design and implementation of compensation programs that include but are not limited to base salaries, sales and incentive pay, variable pay, and executive compensation.
Monitor the effectiveness of and provide on-going compensation consulting services regarding job evaluations, external market pricing, and policy interpretation.
Ensure timely completion of compensation projects.
Consult with people leaders on interpretation of compensation policies and programs
Conduct and supervise the participation in complex compensation surveys to determine and maintain a competitive position within and across markets, and recommend changes to ensure that compensation objectives are met.
Proactively research and identify trends and issues that impact compensation relative to the achievement of business objectives.
Guide training and development activities in the areas of compensation management and rewards for HR and business leaders.
Develop models, analyses, and reports for compensation planning and forecasting.
Work with HR team members and leaders to develop compensation solutions, practices, and plans that support a strong, market-based, pay-for-performance environment.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 5+ years experience with compensation plan design
Strong knowledge of executive compensation practices
Experience ensuring compliance and cost-effectiveness of compensation programs and policies
Experience in planning and executing salary surveys, conducting benchmark analysis, and managing job classifications
Experience with, and strong knowledge of, compensation as a component of Total Rewards
BA/BS required, Masters in HR or a related field preferred
Significant experience in the management of salary administration programs, including job evaluations and lead participation in salary surveys
Experience in the design and administration of incentive plans; annual and targeted
